London Fashion Week September 2017!
We can’t quite put our finger on it, but this year felt like the sparkle was missing from London Fashion Week compared to previous years, and looking ahead to Paris and Milan which filled us all with #FOMO, they seemed a little more special. Don’t get us wrong the parties in London were fabulous but fashion week isn’t about that, it should be about show stopping catwalks and presentations which push the boundaries and demonstrate creativity and ingenuity.
Fashion week has had to change and adapt as the climate for investment in this country is no doubt in trouble from the weight of Bexit and corporate brands, who are no doubt looking to place their money else where. Let’s hope they don’t and next season we see an uplift!
The award for brand sponsorship (not sure for the right reasons… see above image) goes to Budweiser for dressing Daisy Lowe…. yes you heard it right. They created a kimono for Daisy to wear to the shows, you really do need to see it to believe it. I hope she got paid a lot!
Getting it right…
Donatella Versace celebrates Cindy Crawford, Carla Bruni, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Helena Christensen, 5 iconic top 90s models for the tribute to the beloved brother Gianni and the dresses he created at the beginning of that decade… and just look at the outcome! WOW!
